Lake Alma State Park

Are you on the hunt for fall foliage?? Fall is my favorite time of year to check out some of the gorgeous parks in Southeast Ohio. Lake Alma fits into that category. I wish I would have stayed to camp, but I was just passing through and killing some time. There aren’t many hiking trails but I hit up their Acorn trail. I have to admit, the fall leaves covered the forest floor so densely, I ended up off trail and a little lost but thankfully its not a huge area so found my way back. Plus I didn’t mind wandering around, taking in all the sights, smells, and sounds of fall. Anyone else get a dose of dopamine from leaves crunching under their feet. After hiking, I walked across the bridge and learned the island in the middle of the lake used to be the home of an amusement park in the early 1900s. Lake Alma is definitely worth a stop if you’re chasing fall vibes in Ohio. Next time, I’m bringing at tent.
